Staff Accomplishments

Congratulations to Amy, one of our technologists, for being awarded the 1st Laura Dillard Memorial Scholarship Award in 2008. Considerations for this award include compassion and empathy towards our patients, willingness to take on new responsibilities in the section, work ethic and the efficient production of high-quality images with a consistently low number of retakes and technical recalls. Amy demonstrates willingness to teach, mentor and assist colleagues and radiology technology students.

Congratulations to our technologists Courtney and Fareeda for passing the mammography registry in November 2008 and March 2008, respectively.

Both Courtney and Fareeda continued in breast imaging after completing the VCU radiography program.

Congratulations to Joanne Cousins, RT(R)(M), VCU Breast Imaging manager, for being selected for "Employee Spotlight" in The Spirit, July 2009, and as radiology employee of the month in September 2008.

Congratulations to Gilda Cardeñosa, MD, FACR, selected as one of Richmond’s Top Doctors in April 2008 and April 2009 for digital screening, film screening, and top vote-getter for breast MRI.

Congratulations to all staff members for their participation in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk on Oct. 19, 2008. Through a yard sale and several bake sales the staff met their goal of donating more than $2,000 to this cause.
